These photos were shot at various times and locations using both digital and 35 mm film and natural lighting.

The Circle of life
This series was shot using 35 mm film and a polaroid edge was added to each photo via Photoshop. A personal project that I exhibited as an entry in an art show, this series depicts the brief span of time in which my Grandmother, who was dying of cancer, and my newly born Nephew’s lives overlapped.

IMAGE EDITING
Using Photoshop to help edit photos and enhance images is one of my favorite design tasks. At times, I also have used it to create a visual representation of anticipated end products including several construction projects and golf course designs. In most of the production examples shown below, I would assemble the photos by adding backgrounds, lighting effects or props to better express the feel of each show.
Promo Photos
While at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre I often worked on editing photos so that they could be used to help promote and sell tickets to the various productions that graced their stage.

IMAGE Editing Process
Typically the models were cast members in the production they promoted and they would be photographed against a green screen or plain back drop. I would then find stock photo images to help me create the backgrounds needed to complete the desired look. Once I had all the pieces and parts needed, then I would assemble them adding lighting effects and shadows to complete the image.

Construction Renderings
On occasion, I have been asked to work closely with home builders and business owners to create photo renderings. These images were used to help with the visualization of what a completed construction project was expected to look like. Depicted in the photos above are the following examples; a new facade for the F.O.P. building entrance, an extension on a lake home and a lean-to for a local restaurant’s outdoor patio space.
